Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced emergency clinician to join our team working within Emergency Services at the Ryan Veterinary Hospital.

The primary responsibility is to provide clinical care to emergency patients presenting to our teaching hospital.

Job Description

As the Staff Emergency Veterinarian, you will provide compassionate clinical care to patients. You will also have the opportunity to provide mentorship to, and impact the development of, future veterinarians through teaching responsibilities on the clinic floor with third and fourth-year veterinary students as well as rotating veterinary interns.

Responsibilities in this vital role will include :

  • Provide care and service to animals and their owners for patients admitted to the Ryan Hospital ER including primary case care, and clear communication with clients and referring veterinarians
  • Facilitate communications with other services and clinicians within Ryan Hospital
  • Provide teaching to clinical veterinary students and rotating interns
  • Communicate with referring veterinarians who are calling to refer a patient, have questions, or require feedback regarding patients admitted to Ryan ER
  • Communicate with in house services regarding ER patients

Qualifications

DVM / VMD degree and at least 2 years of experience in an emergency / urgent care setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

This position requires a flexible schedule which will include a mix of overnight, swing shifts and some weekends.

The ideal professional will genuinely enjoy working in an animal care environment, promote teamwork, thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting and will possess excellent interpersonal skills, customer service and communications skills and problem-solving skills.

The individual will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals, including world-class clinicians and researchers, to provide quality care to all patients.

Targeted Pay Range : $130,000 - $150,000

This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
