As a Senior Aerospace Engine Test / Powerplant Engineer with a background in aircraft engine testing, you will play a pivotal role in addressing Engine Test challenges within both production and overhaul environments.
This position offers a unique platform to demonstrate leadership across various teams, with opportunities to engage in presentations to Senior Leaders, Technical Reviews, and PCB.
You will be recognized as the go-to Technical Expert for resolving complex technical issues during engine testing phases.
Your role would involve close collaboration with World-Class Test Teams, Quality, Assembly, Engineering, GE Aerospace facilities, and third-party Aerospace suppliers to address and rectify systemic issues that affect Test outcomes, First Time Yield (FTY), and Lead Time.
You will maintain active involvement with Global Test Teams, contributing your expertise and support to the broader Test community by participating in Global meetings and conferences.
This role offers a hands-on experience with Engines during their Test and Assembly phases, presenting a significant opportunity for those deeply involved in the intricacies of aircraft engine testing.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities :
You will leverage your extensive experience and expertise in resolving technical issues related to engine testing, as well as devising and implementing systemic solutions to achieve both immediate and long-term objectives.
This role positions you as a critical point of contact for the program's test throughput, offering significant exposure to plant leaders, department general managers, and engine program general managers.
Your responsibilities will include :
Leading the engine test support function and coordinating sickbay meetings to address and resolve production test yield challenges, encompassing troubleshooting across design, part manufacturing, assembly, and testing phases.
Additionally, you will extend test support to GE overhaul shops as required.
- Initiating and driving cost reduction initiatives within the assembly and test operations in ATO.
- Providing technical guidance to team members involved in the assigned project.
- Ensuring prompt communication regarding significant issues or developments.
- Participating in teams tasked with tackling organizational initiatives and general issues.
- Reporting on program yield status during technical and program reviews.
- Ensuring accurate documentation of technical data generated for the projects or tasks you're assigned to, in line with engineering policies and procedures.
- Defining and overseeing the production process, including the selection and management of tools and equipment.
- Validating design specifications and the shop floor application of new products, tools, or equipment, in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers.

- Work on complex technological challenges, employing methods and approaches that may draw on established precedents.
- Hold a position of authority within a network of experts and project teams.
- Present strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders (EB and SEB) across GE.
- Influence decisions within your discipline and area of expertise.
- Communicate recommendations and solutions not just within your direct organization but also to cross-functional partner organizations.
- Engage in complex decision-making processes, sometimes involving external parties.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required from an accredited college or university.
- 5+ years of experience with analyzing engine test data as well as in depth examination of data analytics required.
Desired Characteristics :
Continuous Improvement Mindset : Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.

- Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with aviation regulations and standards (e.g., FAA, EASA) that govern engine testing and certification.
- Software Proficiency : Skilled in using engineering software, data analysis tools, and computer-aided design (CAD) programs relevant to engine testing and analysis.
