Position description

The University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior anticipates openings for outstanding clinician scientists at the Assistant / Associate / Full Professor level for the Professor In Residence series.

Basic Qualifications : Candidates must possess an M.D. M.D. / Ph.D. or PhD degree and have an established track record of conducting impactful, competitively funded clinical / translational research in areas of child and adolescent psychiatry and / or major mental disorders, such as mood disorders (including major depression and bipolar illness), neurodevelopmental disorders, psychosis and addiction.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to build new research programs leveraging the rich and uniquely collaborative intellectual environment and research infrastructure of the University of California at Irvine.

Successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the educational mission of the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior.

Salaries are based on University of California salary scales, which are dependent on academic rank and step, and commensurate with experience.

For candidates with clinical degrees applicants should be eligible for a California Medical License and membership on the Medical Staff at the University of California, Irvine.

Based on clinical productivity there is opportunity to earn additional salary for clinically active faculty.
