Responsibilities : Position Summary :

Position Summary :

The DOU registered nurse provides direct patient care, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to assigned patients in the DOU units.

The registered nurse is supportive, compassionate, efficient, detail-oriented team player with excellent interpersonal skills and who collaboratively maintains plan of care for the vulnerable patients.

Required Qualifications :

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Current California R.N. Licensure.

Current BLS and ACLS Certifications.

Minimum of (1) year nursing experience in Definitive Observation / Step Down / Progressive Care Setting.

Exercises excellent observation and sound nursing judgment, excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate care needs.

Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision; excellent organizational skills.

Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation.

Preferred Qualifications :

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
