Associate Attorney - Child in Need of Protection or Services (CHIPS)

Since we're rapidly expanding, we are looking for an associate attorney with experience and interest in Child in Need of Protection or Services (CHIPS) matters.

In this position you will be the lead counsel on CHIPS matters, doing the important work of guiding clients through challenging times and helping them on their way to a brighter future.

You’ll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. Compensation :

$90,000 - $120,000 yearly

Responsibilities :

• Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, and motions.
• Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and / or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel.
• Analyze legal issues, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
• Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

Qualifications :

• Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school.
• Successful completion of the bar exam.
• License in good standing to practice law in the state of Minnesota.
• Solid communication and problem-solving skills are required in order to work with clients, staff members, and senior attorneys.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus but is not required.
