Operating Room Registered Nurse Fellowship

2024 Operating Room RN Fellowship Program - Start Date July 1, 2024
NCH is committed to the growth and development of nurses within our health system, plus opportunities for new graduates and experienced acute care nurses outside of the NCH to apply to the OR Nursing Fellowship.
To support a nurse’s development in operating room nursing, NCH has developed a fellowship program that supports transition to practice throughout the year.
The program is 12 weeks (new grads 16 weeks), consisting of in-class education, computer modules, simulation, and precepting within the OR departments of both campuses.
For the July Fellowship application, the window is open now through June 2024.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates WITHOUT OR experience and New Graduates RN that will complete the fellowship program
- BSN preferred.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- ALS certification will be obtained during the program.
- Required to sign a Fellowship agreement which includes a 2-year employment commitment to remain in OR in a full-time position after completion of training.
- Intermediate computer knowledge : Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
