The Clinical Nurseassesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements and manages theneeds of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with afocus on progress toward discharge, including during transitionswithin the acute care stay.
The Clinical Nurse is responsible forthe delivery and coordination of patient care provided by thecaregiving team. S / he assures that competent, compassionate patientcare is uniformly provided to customers including referringfacilities, hospital staff and patients in the inpatient,ambulatory, and communitysettings.
HourlyRange : $36.73 -$60.93
EssentialDuties & Responsibilities include but not limitedto :
- Implements physician orders, administersmedications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures andspecial tests, and document treatment as required by company policyand local / state / federal rules and regulations.
- Orders,interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assesspatients' conditions.
- Assesses and evaluates patientneeds for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Appliessound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provides primary and emergency care for occupational andnon-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administersover-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
- Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Carefor all patients.
- Directs and guides ancillarypersonnel and maintain standards of professionalnursing.
MinimumQualifications :
- Graduate of a professionalacademic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree orBaccalaureate Degree is conferred.
- Must hold currentNYS Registered Nurse license
- Obtains and maintainscertification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience isrequired
- Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry or ICUexperience is required
- Ability to improve jobperformance through continuing education.
- Possessesknowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solvingtools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in supportof departmental and patient care quality improvement.
