Talascend is currently looking for a Forklift / Heavy Machine Operator for a contract role in San Antonio, TX.
1st shift 5 : 30AM-2 : 00PM
Pay : $17.00 / HR, Eligible for overtime
Forklift license is required*
OVERVIEW :
We are seeking a skilled Forklift / Heavy Machinery Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to proficiently operate industrial trucks or heavy machinery in various environments such as warehouses, storage yards, factories, construction sites, or similar locations.
The ideal candidate will ensure the safe movement of product loads throughout the facility.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Inspect product loads for accuracy and safely maneuver them within the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Operate controls to drive vehicles and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
- Utilize levers and controls to operate lifting devices like forklifts and hoists to load, unload, transport, and stack materials.
- Load and unload materials manually or mechanically from pallets, skids, or boxes, securing them for transport to designated areas.
- Unload inbound freight and use forklifts to put away.
- Verify product against paperwork.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Team player with problem-solving abilities.
- Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques for optimizing the manufacturing and distribution of goods.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Forklift operator's license REQUIRED.
- 2-4 years of manufacturing experience is necessary.
- Cherry Picker, Sit Down / Stand up, and Reach Lift experience.
