The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Software Engineer in the Software Implementation and Integration Department of the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD).

This position will be located at in Chantilly, VA.

Job Summary

ISCD staff members couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers.

Software Engineer will join the Software Implementation and Integration Department and will perform full life cycle software engineering and application development.

Work Model

This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with some onsite work required in Chantilly, VA.

What You'll Be Doing

Participates in the software design & implementation of a simulated space system.

Develops prototype software in Python, Java & C to operate on the simulated space element and the simulated ground element.

Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.

Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and / or engineering tasks.

Training and mentorship will be provided.

What You Need to Be Successful

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer / Electrical Engineering, or closely related technical disciplinefrom an accredited college / university, pursuing or conferred within last 12 months.

Minimum GPA 3.0

Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Experience programming in Python, C / C++, or JAVA

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
