Summary of Job Duties :

The J.B. Hunt Transport Department of Supply Chain Management in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas invites applications and nominations for a non-tenure track teaching position in Supply Chain Management at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full (Open Rank), beginning Fall 2025.

The desired candidate is expected to teach a 4 / 4 load, with a mix of face-to-face undergraduate and blended master’s courses, as needed.

The candidate will also be expected to remain academically qualified by AACSB and fulfill University, College, and Departmental service requirements consistent with the rank.

Regular on-campus availability and in-person teaching are essential functions and required for faculty members.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

In 2020 and 2022, the Walton College’s supply chain undergraduate program was ranked #1 in North America by Gartner. As a result of its success in high quality and industry relevant integrated supply chain management education and collaborative industry partnerships the department was named the J.

B. Hunt Transport Department of Supply Chain Management in 2022. Candidates should aspire to contribute to the college and department’s goals to promote a diverse educational environment and promote industry-relevant, applied, experiential pedagogy for learners.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

Doctorate degreein supply chain managementor a related field from an AACSB accredited institution (conferredby the time the candidate begins the position)

Demonstrated record of engagement with industry professionals

Demonstrated ability to become classified as Scholarly Academic by AACSB standards through publication in peer-reviewed supply chain management journal(s)

Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching in a business school in face-to-face format

Experience teaching courses related to supply chain management, such as purchasing / procurement, business logistics, or business operations

Preferred Qualifications :

Two or more years of industry work experience in supply chain management

Experience teaching courses with a high degree of student-industry interaction

Experience teaching courses with a high degree of practice-based teaching, such as applied industry projects

Experience teaching a wide range of supply chain management-related courses

Demonstrated service to college and department initiatives

Demonstrated active participation in a supply chain management professional association

Demonstrated previous and ongoing interaction with industry supply chain professionals
