\nLocation (On-site, Remote, or Hybrid?) :  Winston Salem, NC (onsite)

\nContract Duration : 13 weeks

\nWork Hours :  Day 3x12-Hour (06 : 45 - 19 : 15)

\nTotal Weekly Hours : 36 \n\n \n\n \n\nRTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.

\nREQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP :

\nMinimum Years of Experience : 2 year required.

\nTraveler Experience : Unit WILL ACCEPTS 1st time traveler.

\nLocals Accepted / Rate Difference : Yes

\nSkills : IV start, Vents, Telemetry and cpap / bipap, Interpretation / management of dysrhythmias.

\nCerts : ACLS, BLS

\n

\nPREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP : NIHSS

\n

\nJOB DETAILS :

\nTarget Ratios : 1 : 4-5 (Mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS / Tele patients) In extreme situations the unit will go to a 1 : 6 ratio.

\n

\nUnit will accept 13 weeks.

\n12 HOUR DAYS

\n

\nFloat Requirement : required to float to like units.

\nWeekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks but staffing needs may require more.

\n

\nPatient Population : COPD, PNA, Resp distress, Covid-19, FLU, PE’s.

\n

\n

\nSPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS : Our acuity is on the higher end of a med-surg unit, but we do operate with a team lead present in a 3 : 1 that rounds the whole unit, 2 respiratory therapists that are rounding, and an assistant nurse manager on shift including weekends. We do take ventilators on our unit but they are for chronic trach / vent patients. Our model is that no nurse has more than one vent patient at a time. Our unit is 48 beds in total. Our CNA’s are a 9-10 : 1. Most of our patient population is going to be COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, and patients with chest tubes, CPAP, BiPAP. Many have comorbidities as well as telemetry monitoring.
