The Project Manager will lead and coordinate the planning, construction, and implementation of large-scale commercial solar projects.
This role requires a deep understanding of ground-mounted solar facilities, project management skills, and the ability to work with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning and Development :
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Conduct risk analyses and site assessments
- Interdepartmental coordination with development, underwriting, capital markets, legal, and pre-construction teams
- Assist with the preparation and submission of necessary permits and applications to regulatory authorities
Project Management :
- Oversee the execution of the project plan, ensuring that all milestones are met on me and within budget
- Manage contractors and vendors, including negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with project specifications
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed to ensure successful project completion
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards
Client and Stakeholder Communication :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the projects, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including utility companies and local authorities
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained and communicated effectively to relevant par es
Financial Management
- Monitor project budgets and financial performance
- Approve invoices and manage project-related expenses
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for executive management
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and develop mi ga on strategies
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct safety and quality audits and implement corrective actions as necessary
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management in the solar energy sector
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred
- Strong understanding of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) technology, civil and mechanical construction, medium-voltage systems
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial projects
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in project management so ware and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
