FOH Manager Job Description
The Front of House Manager at Tomato Bar is responsible for managing all front of house operations on a shift-by-shift basis.
The FOH Manager oversees, directs, and coordinates the planning, organizing, training of the FOH team to achieve key objectives including service quality, food quality, sales, labor costs, food costs, employee retention, cleanliness and sanitation.
The position will require management responsibilities, in addition to the typical role as a server or bartender. The position will require full-time availability, including night, weekends, and some holidays.
Tomato Bar's culture is team-focused and operating effectively as a team creates a fun place to work for everyone. A FOH Manager candidate should possess strong leadership qualities with an emphasis on being a positive motivator and leader.
The candidate should also possess the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a management team to create a positive operational culture.
This position requires a 90-day orientation and training period. During this period, the company will evaluate your ability as a leader and a manager.
In addition, this period will provide the candidate an opportunity to evaluate the position and his / her comfort level with the position for the future.
FOH Manager Responsibilities
- Hire and train FOH team
- Oversee day-to-day operations in the FOH
- Ensure guest satisfaction by quickly fixing issues
- Facilitate quick and efficient communication between front and back-of-house (BOH) teams
- Lead and motivate FOH team to exceed guests' expectations
- Coordinate FOH team to maximize guest service quality
- Coordinate FOH teams to complete shift responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with management teams to maximize operational goals
- Make people happy
FOH Manager Position Requirements
- Indiana Alcohol Serving Permit
- Previous experience in a restaurant required
- Previous management experience preferred
- Be consistently friendly when communicating with guests and team
- Strong communicator in-person
- Restaurant point-of-sale system experience preferred
- Highly organized with a strong ability to multi-task
- Can function well in a fast-paced environment
- Existing knowledge of food safety procedures preferred, but not required
