job_description.job_card.job_descriptionBeginning 12 / 01 / 2025 Primary need : 7 consecutive days during Christmas week and into January Anticipated contract length : 2 4 months Patient Demographics : Pediatric inpatients Patient Volume / Census : Average 26 newborns per day (not included in locum service) Admissions : Yes, inpatient admissions required Rounding : Included Phone Consults : Yes Case Mix : General pediatrics Procedures : Lumbar punctures (required) Beds : 36 medical / surgical pediatric beds; 70 NICU beds (not covered by locum) Nursery : Level I nursery (not covered by locum) Practice : 6 physicians currently, expanding to 9 total; 2 experienced nurse practitioners (1 nursery-only, 1 pediatric floors with 12-patient daily load) Reason for Coverage : Supplemental coverage during recruitment and peak seasonal needs Hospital Privileges Required : Yes Temporary Privileges Available : Yes (credentialing 30 days) Credentialing Timeline : 30 days Rate : Fixed (Daily OT after 12 hours; Weekly OT after 168 hours) Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Covered (details TBD) Lumbar punctures (must be proficient and independent) Licenses : Active Florida license required Board : Board Certified in Pediatrics DEA : Active DEA Certification required Certifications : BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NICA membership / receipts Experience : Demonstrated experience in pediatric hospital medicine Other Qualifications : Submission of updated CV, NPDB (within 3 months), and case logs covering 24 inpatient records within past 12 months (with patient age noted preferred) Round on pediatric inpatients and manage admissions Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists and multidisciplinary team Provide daytime pediatric floor coverage only (no nursery or NICU responsibilities) Work in collaboration with experienced nurse practitioners on the pediatric floors Ensure high-quality inpatient care during holiday periods and coverage gaps
