Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Supply Chain Planning leads the site Planning, Purchasing, and Inventory groups to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
The Senior Manager of Supply Chain Planning participates in setting the strategic plan and ensures adherence to the plan through introducing new tools and developing processes and procedures.
The Senior Manager of Supply Chain Planning works collectively with internal and external customers to ensure alignment along the entire Supply Chain.
The Senior Manager of Supply Chain Planning monitors vendor's qualification and performance to confirm they meet company's requirements.
The Senior Manager of Supply Chain Planning leads staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs and provides direct support as needed.
Essential Job Functions
- Partners with Production and Distribution leadership to ensure inventory accuracy through timely and accurate cycle counts, MRB discipline, and ERP transactions.
- Partners with the Sourcing and Reliability teams to ensure proper transition for new parts and product launches.
- Review negative pipe (projected shortages) report and work with the Supply Chain team to investigate root causes and take corrective action.
- Maintain a current knowledge of company products, systems, and quality specifications.
- Develop talent through training and coaching the staff to achieve performance metrics.
- Own / lead the Planning process and recommend systems to create a world class operation.
- Minimize raw material and capital inventory to maximize cash flow, accuracy, and turns.
- Oversees the coordination with Production, Marketing, and Customer Service groups to manage the machine build plan to meet corporate capital expense budget and operations plan to satisfy customer placement commitments.
- Own and lead the Purchasing process of raw materials, supplies, and services to ensure product availability and eliminate unnecessary stock outs and expediting.
Provide hands on support to the Purchasing team as needed.
Negotiate with and develop potential suppliers to ensure best quality, price, terms, and delivery available.

Education & Experience
- BS / BA in Supply Chain or related discipline and 10-12 years’ experience in a related field.
- APICS certification a plus.
Competencies Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent MS Office experience : Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of E1 / ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of forecasting techniques.
- Strong knowledge of ERP system processes for forecasting & inventory control.
- Operational Manufacturing experience in both new build and refurbishment environments.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
- Excellent persuasive reasoning and negotiation skills.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as internal / external customer service skills.
