The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing in Pasadena, CA, is seeking an onsite IT Support Engineer to support the day-to-day operations of a growing research and development effort.
You will empower a team of scientists, engineers, and staff to develop future quantum technologies and build products for our customers.
In this role, you will interact with teams across and outside the organization to ensure high availability and best-in-class IT solutions for on-premise and AWS infrastructure at a new facility.
You will work with multiple teams and end users to make sure operational processes and requests meet the needs of the business.
Successful candidates have meticulous attention to detail, an excellent approach to troubleshooting, and strong communication skills.
Key job responsibilities
Managing, maintaining, and securing on-premise and cloud infrastructure
Administering firewall policies, planning and enforcing IP address management and network segmentation
Creating quality documentation for our organization and AWS security teams
Troubleshooting difficult IT problems without Standard Operating Procedures
Collaborating with internal teams or vendors to execute projects
Leading continuous improvement efforts
Auditing the quality of work performed and provide constructive feedback when necessary
Automating manual tasks; create / improve small tools that help make team operations more efficient.
Serving as the first point of escalation.
Participating in hiring, training and development of others.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of networking (such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP / IP) experience
- 3+ years of Windows Server technologies : AD, DFS, Print Services, SCCM experience
- 4+ years of technical support experience
- 4+ years of corporate setting Windows, Mac or Linux Operating systems support experience
- Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science or equivalent
- 4+ years of troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of supporting a windows server environment experience
- Experience supporting video conference and teleconference equipment
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco / CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications
