Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking a Distribution Process Analyst for our Lakeville, Minnesota corporate office.

Job Summary :

This position is responsible for helping distribution centers operate more efficiently and effectively through the critical evaluation of current systems and processes.

Utilize available data to assist managers and the senior operations management staff in building a business case for improvements to processes and systems used within the distribution facilities.

Assist in the generation of reports in Cognos and other report-writing software from the warehouse management system (WMS).

Essential Job Functions :

  • Analyzes Distribution Operations, including budget, P&L, performance and productivity data, error rates and root cause analysis.
  • Prepares and maintains detailed standard operating procedures (SOP) and technical support material for all DC processes, performs periodic observations of all job functions as required for SOP and updates documentation as processes evolve.
  • Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; adjusting schedules when necessary;

determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths.

Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others;

identifying and initiating projects; driving the resolution of issues.

Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information as necessary for effective management.

Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.

Collects data from various systems and reports to identify root cause of technical distribution problems; uses systems expertise to propose and enable functional and technical solutions.

Develops efficient ways of collecting data for tracking equipment utilization.

  • Assists with thorough unit and system testing for all software and configuration changes; participates in the integrated testing of all DC systems.
  • Participates in requirements gathering and user acceptance testing (UAT) for projects.
  • Supports resolutions to issues that come into the Distribution Operations team determining if it requires internal or external support.
  • Partners with operations management on continuous process improvement across the operation.
  • Maintains and publishes standard reports for team and prepares ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Support system conversions, upgrades, enhancements.

Job Requirements & Qualifications :

  • Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
  • A minimum of four years of experience in a distribution environment is required.
  • Two years of system configuration / administration is preferred.
  • Experience in managing projects of various size.
  • Experience with LM, developing engineered standards and performing performance observations.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to analyze data using multiple resources that include but are not limited to Excel and various query utilities and reporting tools.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages.

  • Good listening and verbal communication skills to include the ability to demonstrate diplomacy and professionalism.

  • The ability to make quick decisions based on sound business logic
  • Ability to work with Corporate office to achieve mutual goals

  • Vision : Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to climb ladders / stairs, balance, stand / walk on concrete floors for extended periods
  • Bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching
  • Ability to work long hours when needs arise
  • Frequent use of a telephone listening and speaking
  • Ability to work at a desk throughout the day
  • Frequent use of hands for writing and computer keyboard.

Equipment Used :

Windows based computer, safety equipment, label equipment, and handheld scanners.

Work Environment :

This is a remote position. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday. Working more than 40 hours per work week may be required.

Occasional travel may be required.
