As an Analyst II Business Intelligence, you will utilize advanced techniques to analyze intricate business and clinical datasets, furnishing actionable insights for discerning clinical and operational decision-makers.
Discern and interpret trends and patterns within datasets to pinpoint influential factors. Collaborate with business and clinical teams to prioritize data interpretation, addressing divisional requirements.
Enhance the efficacy of enterprise business intelligence tools by refining data filtration and indexing, enhancing user value.
Engage with Critical Care Medicine (CCM) personnel to define essential data requirements, procure them, and translate them into concise reports, informative dashboards, and data-informed recommendations directly shaping patient care delivery within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) while streamlining unit operations.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES :
What You’ll Do :
This position entails delivering clinical metrics to our faculty within the Critical Care Medicine Division, extracting data from Epic and related systems.
The generated reports will have varying frequencies, ranging from continuous to ad hoc. We are in search of an individual skilled in data visualization to facilitate faculty comprehension and informed decision-making.
Additionally, this role involves crafting dashboards using tools such as Power BI to augment accessibility and efficacy.
User Requirements :
Gather, analyze, and translate user needs into actionable data solutions, including complex reports and user-friendly dashboards using relevant data systems (e.
g., Epic Slicer Dicer, caboodle and Clarity, SAP / Crystal, Business Objectives, PowerBI, etc.).
Participate in technical data query / analysis code reviews, including reviewing simple code for other team members in the division for reports specific to CCM / PICU data.
Training and Support :
- Develop and deliver training materials (job aids, lesson plans, quick start guides, etc.) for new hires or when changes are made to existing applications / systems on accessing / utilizing data, reports, and BI tools effectively.
- Provide ad-hoc data analysis support for critical care medicine, assisting staff in understanding data and identifying potential gaps.
Technical Skills :
- Continuously develop professional skills relevant to CCM data analysis, maintaining relevant Epic certifications (if applicable).
- Refine communication skills to effectively translate CCM / PICU user needs into BI solutions.
- Plan and execute testing plans for new CCM-focused BI solutions.
Project Management :
- Manage assigned CCM-related BI projects, ensuring timely completion, clear communication, and effective task prioritization.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with existing CCM / PICU BI solutions and develop support plans for new ones.
- Serve as project manager for simple projects.
Analysis :
- Analyze CCM-specific data requests, ensuring alignment with existing divisional and institutional tools and processes.
- Organize and complete assigned tasks related to CCM / PICU data analysis and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and proactively identify and escalate unresolved data issues within CCM / PICU, escalating when indicated.
- Coordinate communication between teams to ensure successful completion of CCM / PICU data analysis projects.
- Effectively work with cross-functional teams to identify needs.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Required :
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline
Unique Skills
- SQL Proficiency for querying and extracting relevant data from CCM / PICU-specific databases (e.g., Epic).
- Data Cleaning : Cleaning, transforming, and preparing CCM / PICU data for use.
- Data Analysis : Understanding statistical concepts like hypothesis testing and significance testing to help evaluate data to uncover meaningful trends and patterns within complex CCM / PICU data sets.
- Data Visualization (basic) : Proficiency in tools like Excel or Power BI for creating clear and informative reports and dashboards for CCM / PICU.
- Data Storytelling : Effectively communicate data insights in a clear and concise manner, tailored to a clinical audience.
