Job Summary :
Responsible for coordinating all preanalytical laboratory functions of the medical laboratory. Duties include coordination of : specimen collection;
specimen prep for in-house analysis; ordering / preparing / processing specimens for referral to a reference lab; and clerical / registration functions of the laboratory.
Supervises and directs phlebotomist, lab assistants and courier staff for efficient and timely completion of preanalytical responsibilities.
Perform other duties, as required by lab management, necessary to carry out the mission of this hospital.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required :
Education : Associates degree or minimum of two years of college level credits in Science, Business or Management related courses.
Experience : Minimum of 5 years as a Lab Assistant or extensive experience in all areas of preanalytical laboratory functions.
