At Houston Methodist the ASC Registered Nurse(RN) position a licensed staff nurse an experienced clinicianfunctions at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benners model ofclinical practice.
The ASC RN position is responsible for providingprofessional nursing care to a diverse patient populationconducting nursing assessments assisting with exams and treatmentpatient education and maintenance of medical records.
The ASC RNposition provides direct patient care effectively and efficientlywhich may include patients with varied and complex needs.
Thisposition communicates and collaborates with the physicians andinterprofessional health care team to facilitate coordinate andmaintain compassionate efficient quality care and achievement ofdesired treatment outcomes.
The ASC RN position demonstratesclinical competence when providing care using technologyadministering medications performing procedures and managingemergencies acting as a patient and family advocate in order tomonitor and maintain patient rights.
This position assumesleadership roles with progressive responsibility including but notlimited to participating in or leading shared governanceinitiatives.

Two years nursingexperience in a preop / PACU ICU or EDenvironment
