summary ResourceMFG is hiring a Gage Lab Tech in Lafayette, IN! Shift and Pay : Sunday-Thursday, 10 : 30pm-7 : 00am $25.62 / hr Position Description : Checking, adjusting, calibrating, certification and repair ofprecision measuring instruments.
Laps, adjusts and repairs gages to restore accuracy. Close involvement with the certification of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM),Super Micrometers, surface plates and allied equipment.
Makes repairs and / or arrangesfor the repairs with outside suppliers. Closely involved with the ISO9001 process and theCorporate Gage System to maintain accurate records.
When the incumbent is deemed tobe fully qualified, he / she will be empowered to train new or fellow employees on thetechnical aspects of this position.
Job Related Experience / Qualifications : hand-on experience with gage checking, repair and certification. CNC machining background, ability to interpret part features to gage readings and gagereadings to gage features.
Knowledge and use of surface plate layout and the ability toperform trigonometric calculations to determine dimensions that are not called out on theprint.
Certification requires precision measurement in Metric and English standards. Repair and troubleshooting require mechanical aptitude and ability.
Goodcommunication skills are essential to performing this job function. Above averagekeyboard skills and knowledge of Caterpillar computer systems (GageIt, and other PCsoftware) will be very helpful.
