Serves as a resource for licensed and unlicensed clinic staff.Can manage commonly seen contingency situations that arise on his / her clinical unit.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS : * Adheres to the Mission, Vision, and Values of UT Health East Texas.* Performs technical procedures / skills in the specialty area of oncology whichincludes the administration of medications and treatments specific to cancer careprimarily.
- Flexibility and willingness to cover in other clinics as needed.* Accountable for the identification and reduction of unsafe practices that couldcause harm to patients.
- Responsible for acquiring working knowledge of and maintaining ongoingunderstanding of required practices, procedures and processes to meet andexceed regulatory compliance standards.
- Other duties as assigned.ACCOMPANYING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES : * Bilingual a plus.* EMR experience.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and medical equipment such as I.V.REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE : * Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program.
- RN with clinical experience in area of Oncology preferred.* RN with experience in clinic setting preferred.* Must possess and maintain a current RN license to practice in Texas.
- Must possess and maintain current CPR Healthcare Provider.* OCN certification and Chemotherapy / Immunotherapy certificate of addedqualification preferred at hire.
Mandatory within 12 months of eligibility.
