About The Position

Job Title : Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Shift : Day Shift

Hours per Shift : 630 AM - 3 PM, Monday - Friday; some weekends, call, and holiday rotation

Experience : Minimum one year as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist

License : State Radiology Technologist License

Certifications : BLS, CNMT or ARRT(N)

Must-Have : Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program

Description :

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images.

The technologist demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as well as image quality.

Applying professional knowledge, the technologist prepares patients for procedures and educates them.

The technologist responds to patient questions and concerns, ensuring age-appropriate communication.

Safety needs and patient education principles are emphasized throughout all procedures.

The role includes overseeing and training students in patient care and treatment.

The technologist verifies the ordered exam and appropriateness using assessment data.

Preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals to patients is required.

Patients and equipment must be positioned to achieve optimal images.

The technologist works with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed.

Clienttion safety techniques and devices are applied to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.

An age-appropriate approach to communication and safety needs is ensured throughout the process.

Principles of physical and functional growth and development are integrated into patient interactions.
