Chief Purpose of this position : The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology is seeking an incumbent to provide expert management of cardiology patients at VCU Colonial Square outpatient location (serving the Tri-Cities area of Colonial Heights, Hopewell, and Petersburg).
The ideal candidate will be an experienced general cardiologist seeking a practice that will allow them to use the full spectrum of their clinical and teaching skills to serve the primary service area.

Position Responsibilities :
Teaching To support teaching directly via interactions with Fellows, Housestaff and non-physician professionals.Periodically will be expected to present appropriate reviews in patient management discussions at Cardiology and Department of Internal Medicine conferences.
In addition, will be expected to participate in University Continuing Medical Education programs for practicing physicians which is important to enhancing patient referrals.
Research To support clinical research protocols as needed.
Service Will be expected to participate in quality, safety and efficiency initiatives
Clinical Will primarily be dedicated to the outpatient, inpatient and consultative services.Will be expected to share call with the Colonial Square group.
Other (for instance administrative duties, etc.) Submit billing and document care as required by the organization. Abide by all medical staff requirements.
Required Qualifications :
- BC / BE cardiologist with demonstrated skills in cardiovascular disease
- Clinically oriented and possess sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for academic appointment
- Communicate effectively and work with a large multidisciplinary program
- Expected to participate in teaching and fellowship programs
- Must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Virginia
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
