Description :
Job duties for Physician Assistants may include but are not limited to :
- Supervise and provide general screenings and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, chronic, and acute conditions
- Provide immunizations
- Diagnose treat and counsel patients
- Technically direct and provide care for various diseases and / or types of injuries (acute, chronic, minor trauma)
- Recognize emergency conditions for proper treatment
- Direct and teach staff
- Provide educational lectures
- Train in-service staff members
- Promote preventative care and health maintenance
- Annual physicals
- Teach patients and family member’s healthy regimens and methods to achieve wellness
Requirements :
- Degree : Bachelor's degree.
- Education : Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
- Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support (5.2.3) : Possess and maintain current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Physicians not currently certified in ACLS, will still be eligible, but shall obtain certification within three (3) months of start date.
Possess and maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Physicians not currently certified in NRP, will still be eligible, but shall obtain certification within three (3) months of start date.
Possess and maintain Advance Life Support Obstetrics (ALSO) certification. Physicians not currently certified in ALSO, will still be eligible, but shall obtain certification within six (6) months of start date.
- Certification : Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA).
- Experience : As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
- Licensure : Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant as required in the TO.
