Job Title : Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit
Job Specialty : Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU)
Job Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Night, 12-hour shifts, Sunday - Thursday, 1900 - 0700
Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours / week
Experience : Minimum of 2 years
License : Must have a valid nursing license from the state of permanent residence
Certifications : BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
Must-Have :
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience, with at least one assignment completed successfully
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or similar-sized hospital
- Basic arrhythmia experience
- Critical care background
- Ability to pass a telemetry test prior to starting
Job Description :
- Responsible for independent peri-anesthetic management of a complex, varied surgical population
- Develop therapeutic relationships by establishing trust and helping patients and families feel comfortable verbalizing their care requirements
- Provide care preoperatively and postoperatively to a diverse surgical patient population
- Adapt to floating between units as required to meet organizational staffing needs
- Uphold the high standards of a nationally recognized teaching institution
