Responsibilities
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of sterile techniques, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field setup including sterilization methods
- Support physician's surgical practice in a variety of procedures including a specialty in the operating room
- Function as a team member in planning for special needs of patients
- Consistently demonstrate performance in a manner conducive to safe, efficient and swift completion and turnover of a surgical procedure
- Ensure accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments used in all procedures at all times
- Responsible for completing basic OR Tech competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies
- Take ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested
- Communicate and listen effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge
- Cooperates and interact with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to service
Qualifications
Job Requirements :
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program
- Six (6) months experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit
Preferred Job Requirements :
- Certified OR Tech
- 1 year OR experience
- CORT or CST
