Major Responsibilities :
- Planning, management, implementation and evaluation of patient care and business operations / services to ensure quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in efforts to assure compliance with Accrediting Organization, IDPH, DNV and other regulatory agencies.
- Assist to develop, update and implement policies, procedures and standards relevant to business office, clerical operations and patient support activities to assure effective and efficient operations
- Serve as a resource person for staff, physicians, and patients regarding billing issues, insurance / HMO coverage, referral authorization, and grievances to help resolve problems.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations for assigned staff for maximum efficiency and productivity. Acts as an expert resource to staff and assists with / resolves complex customer service issues or concerns.
Assists supervisor with developing and modifying staffing schedules to support business needs. Makes recommendations and changes to schedules as needs dictate.
- Promotes growth by participating in marketing efforts, community outreach events. Reviews Patient Satisfaction, Associate Engagement, Culture of Safety other reports in partnership with Manager to develop action plans to continue to elevate outcomes.
- Identifies equipment performance issues and ensures and / or performs equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures.
Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff and evaluates new products and equipment.
Participates in administrative functions such as attend meetings, Advocate Works, EPIC Superuser coordinate staff, physician, and clinic schedules.
Other duties as assigned.
- Assist with departmental statistics related to procedures, testing for both inpatient and outpatient services.
- Maintains professional competency and updates knowledge of current standards, requirements of regulatory agencies, and innovations in technology to serve as a primary source related to specific quality assignments and neuroscience services.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his / her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.

Education / Experience Required :
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in performing as a medical assistant which includes, demonstrated competency in performing : injections, immunizations, EKG, obtaining vital signs, routine medication administration, aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
- Associate degree or equivalent
- Minimum of three years’ experience in business office operations
- 1-2 years lead or supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
- Medical Assistant (CMA) certification issued by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), OR Registered Electroencephalographic Technologists (REEGT), OR Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), OR Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
- Current CPR Certification
- Above average computer skills.
- Above average interpersonal skills and communication.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Above average organizational skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding / billing systems.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
- Must be able to : lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
- Lift up to 20 lbs over the head.
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
- Push / pull with 30 lbs of force.
- Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during the workday.
- Must have functional speech, vision, and hearing.
- Will be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis : mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids.
- Will be required to wear protective clothing such as : gloves, goggles, and gowns as needed.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
