Overview

Kimley-Horn, one of FORTUNE Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For," is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Water / Wastewater team in Deerfield, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment systems, water / wastewater distribution planning, master planning, and treatment plant rehabilitation and expansions.
  • Candidate will be responsible for managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and providing regular communication and guidance with less experienced staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and external clients to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Maintaining a high degree of quality sets of plans along with checking the work of others.
  • Creating work plans and adhering to the budget set by the client and performing strong project management knowledge.
  • Attending meetings and communicating with clients, government entities, and various regulatory agencies to fulfill any regulations and requirements relating to projects.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Current P.E. registration in the State of Illinois or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong sense of self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Client management is a plus
  • Project management is a plus
  • Supervising staff is a plus
