About The Position
Job Title : Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty : Pulmonary Care Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour day shift, 0600-1800, 3 days per week Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred License : Must have current state Licensure (RLT) in the applicable state of employment, and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by NBRC.
Certifications : American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Must-Have : Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), preferred- Ability to float to any location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment or in a designated float zone- Willingness to perform duties outside original assignment as needed Job Description : Deliver respiratory care procedures to patients across various units including general, acute, critical care, and emergency areas.
- Perform therapeutic modalities such as patient monitoring, medication delivery, ventilation management, expansion therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
- Conduct diagnostic tests like arterial blood gases (ABG's), pulmonary function tests (PFTs), EKGs, bronchoscopy, and pulse oximetry.
- Assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency care, providing airway management and cardiac support.- Provide patient and family education and teaching;
transport patients as needed.- Develop care plans based on thorough assessments.- Document all patient care activities including evaluations, progress notes, and treatment records.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians while respecting confidentiality.
- Solve technical and interpersonal problems, ensuring equipment functions properly.- Recognize and assist in identifying patient complications and reactions related to respiratory care.
- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workload.- Adapt to rapidly changing technologies and policies.- Participate in professional and program development and assist in training new staff and students.
