We are a community center in search of a dynamic Gymnastics Coordinator / Head Coach who thrives in a competitive environment to join our team.
In this role, you'll be reporting directly to the Gymnastics Director, providing top-notch instruction to children across various age groups.
Your responsibilities will encompass leading sessions ranging from 1 to 4 hours, aligning with our USAG competitive programs, overseeing competitions, crafting lesson plans, and assessing gymnasts' progress.
Additionally, you'll take charge of guiding the competitive team staff during practices.
This position is full-time, with a workload of up to 40 hours per week, spread across 4-6 days including some weekends.
Your duties will include :
- Conducting 1-4 hour instructional sessions.
- Coaching participants in USAG Development and Xcel Program Levels.
- Working closely with children aged 5-14 and fostering positive interactions with both kids and parents.
- Integrating curriculum creatively into lesson plans and providing session evaluations.
- Actively participating in gymnastics activities and events.
- Collaborating with fellow instructors to ensure practice runs smoothly.
- Regularly attending meetings and training sessions for professional development.
- Managing communication with parents, coordinating meets, and overseeing gym maintenance.
- Participating in sanctioned competitive events and nurturing a supportive learning environment.
- Keeping track of attendance for all competitive practices.
- Undertaking additional tasks as assigned by the Director, such as assisting with recreational classes, handling competitive logistics, and maintaining gym cleanliness.
Qualifications include :
- Minimum age of 18, with prior supervisory experience in competitive and developmental gymnastics.
- Obtaining required USA Gymnastics certifications within 30 days of hire, including Competitive Coach, Safe Sport, and CPR / AED.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities, coupled with gym management experience.
- Previous coaching experience in competitive gymnastics.
- Proficiency in tools like Google Drive.
- Demonstrating professionalism and effective verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead and collaborate with fellow staff members, with a willingness to embrace new strategies.
