Job Details

  • Labor and Delivery nursing position at Spearfish Hospital, Monument Health.
  • General Information :
  • Beds : 8
  • Will accept first-time travelers with L&D experience.
  • Travelers must live more than 100 miles away from the facility.
  • Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as travelers.
  • Patient Types :
  • L&D, postpartum, Antepartum, Newborns, Infants
  • Level 2A Nursery – will care for sick babies
  • Gyn-Surgicals / Mastectomy post-op – preferred experience.

    • Job Requirements

  • Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.
  • Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP.

    • Schedule Information

  • Weekend rotation : every other weekend.
  • On-call schedule based on census and rotation.
  • Holiday Expectations : 3 holidays scheduled, 1 on-call, rotating schedule.
  • Approval of time off : 2 gold tickets / year and request off before next schedule is posted.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Support on the Unit :
  • CNA : none specific to L&D, available for facility 24 / 7.
  • Charge nurse : 1 in hospital covers all units.
  • Phlebotomy : Lab available, 24 / 7.
  • Centralized Fetal Monitoring.
  • Resource Nurse : Primary nurse, manager, or charge nurse.
  • RT : Available and on-call facility wide.
  • Hospitalist : In house (Med / Surg).
  • Nursery located behind Nurse’s station.

  • Scrub Color : Hospital provided scrubs.
