Property Accountant Responsibilities :

General Accounting (40%)

• Engage in dynamic day-to-day accounting tasks, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
• Ensure strict compliance with GASB and FASB standards, as well as state and local regulations, ensuring financial integrity and transparency.
• Maintain meticulous financial records and support seamless month-end close activities.

Interacting with Community Managers (40%)

• Collaborate with passionate community managers across multiple properties to conduct insightful variance analysis and budgeting.
• Provide financial insights and support to help managers understand their budgets and enhance their financial performance.
• Develop and implement innovative financial processes to boost efficiency and compliance.

Reconciliation, Month-End Close, and Audit Support (20%)

• Perform meticulous account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Support efficient month-end closing processes and prepare for successful audits.
• Assist with thorough audit preparation and respond promptly to auditor inquiries.

Property Accountant Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent property management experience.
• Strong foundation in accounting principles, including debits / credits, with the ability to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with Yardi is a plus.
• Exceptional critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze financial data and understand the impact of accounting entries.

• Excellent foundation in accounting
