Job Summary :
Manages overall daily activities of employee health services following federal, state and local guidelines. Develops, implements and maintains safety and wellness programs and recommends methods for improving overall health and safety of the organization’s employees.
Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Education and Work Experience :
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or related field or equivalent combination of education / related experience : Required
- Master's Degree : Preferred
- Five years' relevant experience : Preferred
- Two year's workers' compensation experience : Preferred
- One year's leadership experience : Preferred
Licenses / Certifications :
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certified (CPR certification) : Required
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure : Required
- Occupational health nursing certification : Preferred
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure in state of practice : Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification : Required
Essential Functions :
Supervises and directs the activities of personnel utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Monitors and evaluates the performance of activities in order to ensure quality of work. Reassigns personnel to different tasks or patient care activities in order to achieve most effective utilization of skills and abilities or to equalize workloads.
Serves as the liaison between leadership, employees, organization adjustors and physicians regarding employee injuries.
Gives appropriate attention to complaints or requests as needed.
Develops and implements health measures for employees that comply with local, state and federal law, including immunizations and tuberculosis screening.
Ensures employee health policy and procedures are reviewed, revised and developed in accordance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
Ensures maintenance of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) log on an on-going basis. Files claims, maintains records, follows up with injured or ill employees to ensure proper medical care and minimum lost work days.
Performs hospital-wide safety inspections. Creates and updates departmental policies and procedures as necessary. Assists with pre-employment physicals and screening.
Administers immunizations for employee vaccine program. Monitors and informs employees regarding immunity to communicable diseases.
Assists in developing and administers the compensation program for the organization.
- Actively participates in educational activities / self-development to enhance professional growth and maintains required certification.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
