Weekly Schedule : 3x12

Shift Timings : 07 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM weekends as-needed - Manager sets schedule.

Patient Ratio : 1 : 2

Float Requirements : Yes - Float within areas of competency possible (MICU, ratio of 1 : 4).

Avg. Daily Census : 12 - 21 rooms, 25 beds.

Scrubs : Black scrubs - not provided.

EMR : Pyxis medication system, EPIC documentation, and SBAR communication utilized.

Orientation : 12 hours orientation on floor.

Description :

1st time traveler OK.

ICU RN for oncology ICU floor that also houses MICU.

This is a surgical unit focused on thoracic surgeries, skin flaps, chest tube management, and esophagectomies.

Use of Tablo for dialysis patients.

Provider support includes pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretary.

Provider coverage includes Intensivist, NP, CRNA, Anesthesiologist and Hospitalist.

Experience Required :

1 year ICU experience Required :

Trauma Level II facility experience REQUIRED.

Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and / or Trauma Level I facility a plus.

Licenses and Certifications Required :

Current Georgia nursing license

BLS, ACLS (AHA only, no HeartCode)

CHEMO Cert

Certifications Preferred :

NIH, OCN, TNCC

Care of Ventilated Patient

Interpretation of ABGs

Suctioning (ETT, NT)

Ventilator Management

Infection Prevention

Isolation Precautions / Use of PPE

Phlebotomy

Surgical Wounds with Drains / Wound Vac
