The Behavior Technician (BT) or RegisteredBehavior Technician (RBT) plays a vital role in the life of anindividual with autism.

By using the techniques proven through thescience of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) the BT will workoneonone with a child to reduce redirect and even eliminatebehaviors.

This impacts not only the child (client) by helping themcommunicate and complete basic and advanced life skills but it alsoimpacts the family by providing them with a way to truly connectwith their child.

POSITION DETAILS

As a Behavior Technician you will :

  • Provide oneonone ABA therapy in the home school andcommunity environments
  • Follow anindividualized treatment plan tailormade by a Board CertifiedBehavior Analyst (BCBA) to address and improve deficits
  • Implement behavior plans created by the BCBA
  • Collect data through observation and submit detailedsession notes
  • Participate in training and teammeetings
  • Collaborate with supervisors andpeers
  • Some of the areas you willaddress with your client may include language acquisitionfunctional communication training social skills training dailyliving skills decreasing maladaptive behaviors community safetyskills toilet training executive functiontraining

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be willing and able to travel to clientshomes schools or other community based locations to provideservices
  • Experience working with children orrelated experience is required.
  • Relatedexperience includes working with children working with individualswith autism working with individuals with disabilities
  • Related fields and roles include paraprofessional specialeducation teacher assistance classroom aide early childhoodchildcare nanny babysitter direct care worker direct supportspecialist therapeutic staff support home care behavior supportbehavior interventionist or healthcare / pediatrics
  • Professional or personal experience with Autism SpectrumDisorder (ASD) is preferred
  • Minimumeducational requirement of a High School Diploma (orequivalent)
  • Must be at least 18 years ofage
  • Must have completed the online 40hourRegistered Behavior Technician (RBT) training course OR mustcomplete it within the first 30 days of employment (with our help& guidance of course!)
  • RBT (RegisteredBehavior Technician) certification through the BACB (BehaviorAnalyst Certification Board) is not required but is aplus
  • Effective written an oral communicationskills required
  • Must commit to a schedulehave strong attendance and a strong work ethic
  • Must have reliable transportation with a current andclear drivers license
  • Must pass a criminalbackground check including child abuse clearances
