The Senior Accountant serves as an integral part of the monthly, multiple company accounting close process. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Preparation of monthly journal entries; ensures accruals are made; maintains integrity of the general ledger
• Review A / P and third-party expense report batches for accounting / coding accuracy (i.e. classification in GL as prepayment or period expense;

payment against an accrual; fixed asset purchase, project coding accuracy, etc.)

• Work to ensure accounting accuracy for multi-company purchases and third-party billing
• Serve as accounting liaison with client membership team to reconcile dues / fees; provide timely and accurate statistical reporting and reconciliation between accounting and membership team records to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts for assigned businesses in a timely manner each month
• Ensure accounting policies and procedures are effective and are consistent with GAAP
• Utilize Workday enterprise reporting software to prepare period financial statements

o review for accuracy and identify variances to budget

o Identify and prepare adjustments where required

o ensure business revenue and expense segments align

o prepare results accurately for management and Board presentations, as required

• Establish and maintain internal departmental relationships; provide any requested reporting results in an articulate & accurate professional manner
• Support the Controller as required with bank platform reporting, merchant services issues, and other ad hoc projects as required
• Support management and multiple departments on the accounting impact of new and existing restricted and unrestricted funded projects (i.

e. chart of accounts updates, revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting compliance, matching revenue to costs & completion of project-based reconciliations)

• Assist the Controller in the preparation of the annual operating budgets of client entities
• Reconcile client event accounting to provide relevant information for multiple; collaborate with departmental stakeholders to bridge information gaps, as required
• Prepare audit schedules for external accounting firm, as required
• Prepare information necessary for completion of client tax returns
• Assist the Controller in the preparation of annual / bi-annual lobbying reports and performs ad hoc accounting and reporting requests, as required
