BlueLinx is looking for a Material Handler / Forklift Operator to assist in our distribution center. Our Material Handlers assist us with safely loading our trucks and unloading our railcars.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
- Load / unload / store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
- Store and retrieve material (piece pick and / or bulk)
- Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
- Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintains cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
- Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- One year or recent forklift / warehouse experience
- Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport product, load / unload trucks
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to work independently, at times under pressure
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to read / comprehend sales order, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
- Detail oriented and organized, basic math skills
- Safe work record and stable work history
