Starbucks Global Supply Chain Finance is seeking an experienced senior financial analyst to support month-end close activities and reporting related to green coffee warehouses, G&A / Admin spend and pillar initiatives for 3-year strategic plan and annual budget processes.
The person in this role guides and advises business unit leaders (VPs and directors) about the financial implications of various initiatives and how it will impact forecasting, reporting, and team operations, to help them in decision making.
As a senior financial analyst, Global Supply Chain Finance partner, you will be responsible for :
- Month-end-close activities related to green coffee warehouse spend, which includes accrual preparation, reclassifications, cross charges, pulling GL details, data analysis, and deep dives.
- Monthly and quarterly reporting / reviews of actual green coffee warehouse spend vs forecast, variance analysis, and commentary preparation.
- Quarterly forecasting and review of green coffee warehouse spend.
- Providing capacity utilization and forward coverage financial analysis, business case support, measurement, and feasibility study for green coffee warehouses pilot projects, partnering cross-functionally with coffee planning, logistics, and green coffee operations teams.
- Month-end-close activities related to G&A / Admin spend for the entire GCSIS organization, which includes accrual preparation, reclassifications, cross charges, pulling GL details, data analysis, and deep dives.
- Monthly and quarterly reporting / reviews of actual GCSIS G&A / Admin spend vs forecast, headcount planning, communicate variance analysis, and highlight key opportunities / risks to their stakeholders by utilizing scenario analysis to guide sound decision making.
- Preparing monthly variance submission package for CFP&A and Corporate Accounting.
- Preparing monthly back-of-envelope (BOE) G&A / Admin forecast for CFP&A.
- Quarterly forecasting and review of G&A / Admin spend.
- Planning and consolidating financial inputs for 3-year strategic plan and annual budget processes.
We'd Love To Hear From People With
- Progressive experience in financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, and business planning (3 years).
- Critical thinking, knowledge of US GAAP accounting, understanding of finance / accounting terminology and skills to deliver financial results.
- Applicable industry experience desired.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Advanced Excel, statistical analysis, and financial modeling skills.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage projects.
- Ability to quickly identify the information needed to evaluate new business situations and to collect and organize appropriate quantitative and qualitative information.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively present information to senior leaders.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions and process improvements based on technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and understanding of financial systems.
- Working knowledge of Essbase / Hyperion / Anaplan preferred.
