The Pathology Operations Associate I (POA I) is integral to the pathology workflow and day to day operations at CND Life Sciences.
The POA I works closely with team members and collaborates with laboratory staff, Quality, R&D, and other key departments as needed to achieve success when executing high-quality, compliant practices.
The POS I performs technical functions; routine slide scanning to coordinate image analysis using the Company's Olympus VS200 scanners and NerValence software.
The POA I is responsible for organizing cases for distribution by state licensure to local and off-site MDs for review. The POS I assists in packaging and sending slide shipments to offsite affiliates, while triaging inbound pathology work from MDs.
The POA I will need to utilize Company platforms, tools, and resources to assess and track slide & case statuses to ensure turnaround time (TAT) and chain of custody compliance are met.
Job Responsibilities :
Pathology Operations Duties
- Execute routine whole slide scanning for the commercial workflow using the Olympus VS200 and Visiopharm software.
- Carry out case distribution to full-time and contracted affiliates.
- Pre-fill case documentation for MD staff.
- Prepare, package, and send slide shipments to offsite affiliates.
- Record, update, and track case statuses with current LIMS software.
- Upload relevant case documentation to LIMS
- Archive digital images once case has been reviewed by MD.
- Sort and file glass slides for long term storage once reviewed by MD.
- Transcribe MD results into LIMS to facilitate pathology report generation.
- Attend select meetings and assist with activities as assigned by operation leaders.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience :
- Previous experience in Digital Pathology or a similar role for a medical or molecular diagnostics company
- Experience with whole slide imaging, histopathology, data collection and interpretation, preferred.
- Familiarity and competency with good laboratory practices.
- Strong interest in working in a start-up environment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills and ability to present to company colleagues and leaders.
Education, Certification & Licensures :
- High School Diploma required.
- Associate degree in related science field preferred.
- Certifications in laboratory medicine, pathology assistance and / or digital pathology preferred.
Other :
- Combination of seated and standing work to complete the core functions of the role.
- Adherence to company safety policy.
- Ability to work onsite at the Company's Scottsdale, AZ headquarters approximately five (5) days a week
- Availability to work one weekend a month on a rotating basis.
- Shift : We have two positions available-Tuesday to Saturday, 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 30 PM, and Monday to Friday, 10 : 00 AM to 6 : 30 PM.
