Job Description and Duties

METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL- Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County

DSH - Metropolitan State Hospital is currently accepting applications for Office Technician (Typing), Full-Time / Permanent.

Under the direction of the Standards & Compliance Director, the Office Technician (Typing) will perform a wide range of activities including preparation of documents for regulatory and accreditation agencies such as California Department of Public Health and Joint Commission, compiling performance improvement data, performing office clerical duties, and maintaining office files.

The position requires good writing skills, organizational and communication skills, and must be able to work effectively with others.

Excellent attendance, writing ability, strong analytical skills, verbal presentation skills, and excellent computer knowledge are essential for this position.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT : Ability to type at a speed of not less than 40 words per minute from ordinary manuscript or printed or typewritten material.

State departments will honor typing certificates issued within the last four years and certified from a five (5) minute typing test that meets the CalHR requirements, with a minimum of 40 WPM (words per minute).
