Apex Imaging Services is a complete solution provider for multi-site rollouts of any remodel, refresh, or tech integration program for the retail, restaurant, hospitality, and petroleum industries.
Position Overview :
The commercial construction estimator will be able to read plans and estimate the total
cost of projects, both new build projects and T.I. projects. Additionally, be able to perform
take-offs, communicate and organize scope and / or material lists with vendors and subcontractors to effectively present and hand off the estimate to a PM team detailing the scope of work each trade will be performing, costs per trade / sub, site services, material needed, lead times on material,
and create a
critical path.
Knowledge and Skills Required :
Minimum (5) years of estimating experience in New (ground up) construction and large T.I.
construction projects in the retail and restaurant industries
Must be proficient in the use of Estimating Software (i.e. Estimator360, BuilderTrend,
STACK, PROCORE, PROEST, or others)
- Must be able to read and interpret plans, details, and specifications
- Ability to comprehensively explain scope of work
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Prepares accurate project estimates and bid proposals, including detailed project takeoffs,
budgets, and job costing.
Prepares construction contracts, subcontracts, change orders and purchase orders. Demonstrates
excellent computer skills, requiring in depth knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word and
Excel, with working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Timberline, and other estimating software,
being a plus.
- Oversees and manages each project from estimating to handing the project off to a PM team.
- Ability to create a critical path and / or GANT chart to illustrate and speak to costs and present with bid submissions.
Including but not limited to inspections, milestones, and trade alignment.
- Writes, submits, and tracks RFIs as needed on client portals (Lucernex, ProCore, ProTrack, Project Mates, Etc.)
- Read plans as needed to support specific trade scope and / or RFI’s
