Aspirus Spine & Neurosciences in Wausau, WI. is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team!

This is a New Patient Referral position. It triages newly referred Physical Medicine and Rehab patients for appropriateness.

This is a desk job with phone work. RN will speak to new patients regarding symptom update, schedule, and request records for new patient visits.

This position will also learn Neurosurgery and Neurology for New Patient Referrals as well.

The Registered Nurse is a professional who assumes the responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence-based practice.

A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data.

HOURS : Full-Time, 1.0 FTE, 80 Hours Biweekly, Day Shift.

This position may be eligible for a Sign on Bonus.

Experience / Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Maintains education and specialty certification requirements specific to the department scope of service.
• Previous experience beneficial.
• Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license.
• Maintains specialty certification as per department scope of service.
• For MedEvac Flight Nurse only Also possesses an active Michigan EMT license.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire. All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing.

An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.

• Current Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider (ACLS), American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification may be required based on primary department.
• Annual accrual of CEUs / continuing education requirements per Education Council recommendation for the given year.
• Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and / or various regulatory agencies based on entity and / or job position.
