Overview

Cook role at Cal Block, LLC.

Base pay range : $18.00 / hr - $19.00 / hr

PEARL OF HINSDALE

  • $250 SIGN ON BONUS to be issued after 90 days employment

Covid vaccine is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department, including preparing meals correctly and timely.
  • Supervise employee staff and be accountable to the Dietary Manager. In the absence of the Dietary Manager, oversee and support the staff.
  • The Cook works under the direction of the Dietary Manager.
  • Prepare and portion hot and cold menu items according to the production sheet counts and recipes.
  • Serve resident meals according to the correct meal service times.
  • Provide coverage for staff who call out due to illness.
  • Record all correct food and equipment temperatures by meal.
  • Interact with residents and facility employees to ensure residents are satisfied and well cared for.
  • Maintain the highest standard of sanitation as required by state Department of Health regulations.
  • Practice a clean, safe work environment.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours.
  • Track inventory and communicate low supplies or place orders for needed items.
  • Label, wrap, and date all unused food items in the correct areas.
  • Support and follow Pollak Innovation Management and facility Policies and Procedures.

    • In the absence of the Dietary Manager

  • Ensure staff clock in on time per their schedule.
  • Discipline staff not completing their job assignments correctly.
  • Conduct daily huddle meetings for staff communication and direction.

    • Qualifications

  • High School or Culinary Tech graduate.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes, production sheet counts, diet orders, tray tickets and all employee responsibilities.
  • Understand after training on computer software system for resident information and preferences.
  • Must be Serve Safe Certified or able to earn within the first 90 days of starting.
