About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - Surgical Specialty Job Specialty : Surgical Oncology Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Stepdown or Med Surg required, 3 x 12 Hr shifts Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 1 year of experience required License : Current RN License issued by the state nursing board or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) Certifications : Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association Must-Have : Oncology experience Job Description : Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
- Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed, and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.- Deliver patient care competently and interact with family and patients by sharing the care plan during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures and make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff and perform other duties as assigned.- Maintain good working relationships with other employees and respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Utilize some computer skills as needed. Education : Required : Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program- Preferred : Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program
