Belmont Village is Now Hiring Full Time Memory Care Director - Liincoln Park, Illinois
As the Memory Care Director at Belmont Village Lincoln Park, you will directly manage and support all dementia care staff, dementia activity professionals, complete resident cognitive assessments and work collaboratively with a team to develop plans of care.
You will manage the overall operation of the dementia care department in accordance with Belmont Village standards and state regulations.
This position is a hands on management role including a high level of engagement with employees, residents and families.
Prior experience managing a large dementia or memory care department in an RCFE setting is strongly preferred.
About the Role :
As the Memory Care Director, you will be the dementia subject matter expert within our community serving as a resource for employees, residents and their loved ones.
In this role, you will manage teams, systems, strategic planning, and implementation of programs and services for each level of Memory Care while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Through your dynamic and expert leadership, you will help ensure residents are offered diverse and engaging life-long learning opportunities consistent with the award winning standard for which Belmont Village is well known.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of all dementia caregivers and dementia activity leaders
- Conducts advanced Alzheimer's / dementia training for all staff & is the community dementia expert
- Conducts cognitive assessments on prospective & current residents translating outcomes to service plans related to care & programming
- Works collaboratively with community management, regional & corporate support teams
- Effectively communicates with, educates & offers support to resident family members as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology or related field
- Three (3) years hands-on dementia / Alzheimer's activity program facilitation experience
- Minimum 2 years management experience in a comparable healthcare setting
- Flexibility to work and support a 24 / 7 community operation
- Demonstrated successful use of technology in the workplace
