Allegiance Staffing is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Driver for a temp to hire position with a local packaging company.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to transport materials and products throughout the facility, ensuring efficient and safe movement of goods.
This role is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of operations and supporting our production and packaging processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate Forklifts : Safely operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials and products.
- Material Handling : Transport raw materials, finished products, and other items to and from storage areas, production lines, and loading docks.
- Inventory Management : Assist in managing inventory by accurately recording the movement of materials and products.
- Safety Compliance : Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Equipment Maintenance : Perform routine checks and maintenance on forklifts, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Order Fulfillment : Assist in picking and preparing orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Work Area Maintenance : Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper storage of materials and products.
- Team Collaboration : Work collaboratively with team members to meet production and shipping goals and deadlines.
- Documentation : Complete necessary documentation and records accurately and timely.
Qualifications :
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience : Previous experience as a forklift driver in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Certification : Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Skills :
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
