POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the overall accounting operations of the company. Working with our Manager of Accounting, this individual will be responsible for collaborating as a team to effectively execute accounting operations.

This is a great opportunity for someone highly interested in working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Assist in month and year-end closing activities, including but not limited to, preparation of journal entries.
• Review and approve month-end closing entries and supporting documentation by junior staff.
• Maintain and ensure proper reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Ensure strict adherence to all compliance and regulatory filings.
• Analyze account details upon request and present their results.
• Verify, investigate and correct discrepancies identified in the general ledger.
• Carryout and maintain internal controls.
• Review and enhance accounting processes and general ledger capabilities.
• Liaise with various departments to collaborate and manage companywide fixed costs.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Assist with the preparation of internal and external audit requests. Ad hoc projects as requested by management.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• years of general accounting experience.
• Proven expertise of GAAP; experience with cost accounting preferred.
• Experience with mid-large size private companies a plus.
• Process improvement driven, with strong project management, verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and use of advanced functions; Oracle applications, Essbase preferred.
• Flexibility to be onsite at our Jersey City, NJ Corporate Office, as needed ( quarterly).
