Are you interested in a dynamic work environment while learning how the steam and reactor plants operate? A position as a Senior Chemist and Chemical Engineer in the Steam Plant Chemistry team is for you! This position is for a fleet support engineer to provide support of steam plant chemistry and cleanliness issues across the entire nuclear fleet.

In this role you will : Solve problems associated with cleanliness control in Naval nuclear steam plants. Perform trials, tests, and / or experiments to support engineering, production, and / or R&D activities.

Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources such as experiments and studies.Develop technically and economically sound recommendations and prepare comprehensive documented observations, analyses, and interpretations of results and establish operating equipment specifications.

Develop and recommend new processes and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality.The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, has an attention to detail, is able to evaluate data to draw conclusions about chemistry trends, and is able to multi-task within a fast-paced environment supporting the Navy.

  • Required Combination of Knowledge and SkillBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 6 years of relevant experience;
  • orMaster's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience;
  • or Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part I qualified; orEDO qualified and 2 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program;
  • or3 years SRE qualified and Water Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only);

orSRE qualified and 6 years of experience.Preferred SkillsProficiency at reading fluid system drawings, ability to work in a cross-functional and cross-site team, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong performance record of leading complex work efforts to a successful and timely conclusion.
