Staff Accountant

LLH Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant for one of our clients, l ocated in the Phoenix, AZ Metro area .

As a Staff Accountant you play a pivotal role in assisting in the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulations and supporting various accounting functions.

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of financial integrity.

This is a Contract To Hire position, in office, Monday Friday work week .

Responsibilities :

Perform daily, monthly, and yearly financial transactions, including journal entries and reconciliations

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports

Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of cash balances

Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis

Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations

Monitor and analyze expenses, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements

Assist in preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Participate in the development and improvement of accounting processes and procedures

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting and finance-related inquiries

Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and industry standards

Skills & Abilities :

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (Intermediate level Pivot Tables and Vlookups)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Attention to detail and accuracy in work

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required

Minimum of 4 years + of experience in accounting or related field

Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
